Do you frequently visit your coworkers with candy jars on their desks? And eat and eat and pretend the little “fun size” candy can’t have that many calories since they’re so tiny? Well that basically sums me up at this time of the year (or maybe all year? I have a sweet tooth). But unlike all the previous years, this year I’m going to really limit myself and eat only 2 pieces a day! And in doing so, I’m going to acknowledge that even a cute fun size candy bar has calories.
Some of the popular “FUN SIZE” candies:
- Baby Ruth Bar = 85 calories
- Blow Pops = 50 calories
- Butterfinger Bar = 85 calories
- Candy Corn (11 pieces) = 70 calories
- Jr. Mints = 50 calories
- Kit Kat = 73 calories
- Mike & Ike (sm. box) = 50 calories
- Milk Duds = 54 calories
- Nestle’s Crunch Bar = 50 calories
- Peanut M&M’s= 93 calories
- Plain M&M’s = 88 calories
- Reese’s PB Cups (plain or white chocolate) = 100 calories
- Skittles = 80 calories
- Snickers = 80 calories
- Starbucks = 40 calories
- Three Musketeer Bar – 64 calories
- Tootsie rolls: small bar = 50 calories
- Twix = 50 calories
- Whoppers (sm. pouch) = 100 calories
- York Peppermint Patty (small) = 53 calories
It looks like most of my favorites are around 85 calories… So a couple of pieces a day isn’t that bad! 😀
Enjoy your Halloween!
It wasn’t too long ago (or maybe it was… college was really 8 years ago!?) that when a big snow storm was in the forecast, we would run out and stock up on important supplies, including: 30 packs of cheap beer (Busch light), boxed wine, and a couple of snacks (Easy Mac, Doritos, Ramen Noodles, etc).
We’d spend our time partying and were oblivious to the snow storm around us.
But oh, how times have changed……
Due to Hurricane Sandy soon approaching, my work was closed today. So instead I woke up early and prepared a Green Monstah Smoothie, did an intense cardio workout from OnDemand, and caught up on work and emails.
I also enjoyed a glass or 2 of wine tonight but wine in moderation is good for you. 😀
Times have changed and it’s for the better! I’d much rather eat healthy foods and be productive all day than eat crappy, fatty foods while trying to get rid of a horrible hangover.
What’d you do today? Are you healthier than a couple years ago? 🙂
It happens to all of us… you wake up tired, struggle to get through the work day, sit in traffic, and by the time you walk through your front door all you want to do is change into comfy clothes and plop on the couch. But we need to find a way to workout. To squeeze in a couple decent workouts a week. To get our butts in gear and break a sweat not only for our physical health but also for our mental health.
For me, I feel 100% better when I’m consistently working out 4-5 times a week. This doesn’t always happen but when it does I feel more energized, happier, and less stressed. 😀
So even on days like today when Hurricane Sandy is storming through, we still need to find a way to work out. Instead of running outside or venturing to the gym, you can always do circuit workouts in your living room, exercise to Wii Fitness, or check out the free fitness video’s offered on OnDemand!
